L’appartamento era stato per anni l’atelier di un pittore di paesaggi, un luogo d’altri tempi, dove tutto era colore e profumo di vernice. Abbiamo fatto ben poco. Alessandra voleva due bagni nuovi, all’altezza del suo charme: ci siamo inventati un volume morbido, nella prima stanza, appena appoggiato a una parete, con gli oblò che portano la luce dentro e che da dentro fanno vedere la volta, decorata con delicatezza, nei primi anni del secolo scorso. Sotto gli strati del tempo tutte le possibili tracce sono state riportate alla luce, sui soffitti i dipinti floreali, sui pavimenti, le vecchie piastrelle che oggi formano, tra tavole di rovere, un tappeto che sa di nord Africa. 

The apartment had been for years the studio of a painter of landscapes, a place of the past, where everything was color and smell of paint. We did very little. Alessandra wanted two new bathrooms, lives up to its charm: we built a soft volume, in the first room, just leaning against a wall, with portholes that bring light inside and from the inside they show the vault, decorated with delicacy in the early years of the last century. Under the layers of time all the possible tracks were unearthed, the floral paintings on the ceilings, and on the floors the old tiles that today, including oak tables, set up a carpet that smells of north Africa.
